But there is one thing causing the most considerable stir: the sudden death of Shinzo Abe, Japan’s longest-serving Prime Minister. This has left the nation in a state of shock; many are asking what’s going to happen to the country and the world now.

Shinzo Abe was born on October 26, 1952, in Tokyo. He was the 56th Prime Minister of Japan, serving from December 26, 2012, until his resignation on September 26, 2017. Before he became Prime Minister, Abe was a member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and served as LDP Secretary-General. Abe had a career in politics before becoming Prime Minister. 

Later that year, Hashimoto resigned and Abe became the acting Prime Minister Masayoshi Ohira was elected as the new Prime Minister. In 2003, Abe was elected to his first term as a member of parliament for the Kita-Kanto district of Tokyo. 

When he was elected as a member of parliament, he chose to serve on the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. After these early successes in politics, Abe began to rise through the ranks within the LDP. He eventually became the President of the LDP in 2012 and two years later became Prime Minister.

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe passed away after being shot while running for office. Abe, 67, was shot in the chest while giving an address on stage at Nara. First responders reported that he was bleeding and "showing no vital signs" when they brought him to the hospital.

Abe was capturpulmonary, cardiac up, and covered in blood as he lay beside a guardrail on the sidewalk. He was surrounded by a throng of people, one of them massaging his heart.

Security personnel on the scene quickly after the incident captured Tetsuya Yamagami, and a firearm was found nearby. Yamagami was detained by police on suspicion of trying to kill someone, according to the Japanese news outlet NHK World.

According to NHK, Yamagami allegedly admitted to killing the former prime minister because he was "dissatisfied" with him. He said that he "did not detest Abe's political convictions," though.
